The S23 is the first small bodied steel string guitar that George Lowden designed. Part of the Original series of guitars from 1976, the design and build has changed little in 45+ years. George adjusted the soundbox geometry and voicing to accentuate the bass , knowing in a concert sized body the treble would be good anyway. The S23 with its medium hard AAA Walnut back and sides and Red Cedar top is warm, very loud and well balanced.
Maple bindings, multi-wood top purfling, 5-piece Mahogany and Rosewood neck, Ebony fretboard and Rosewood bridge with a full satin finish complete this old world all wood design.
