George Lowden, being one to seek out and reclaim some of the best woods from the past, locally sourced the old growth Mahogany used for the back and sides from an old church pew in Belfast, Ireland. This great quarter sawn Honduran Mahogany was most likely imported to Ireland in the 1700- 1800’s. Available only on the top of the line Master Grade woods of the 50 series, this wood has a lovely history. No matter your faith, there is no denying the powerful energy of many years of song, prayer and reflection shared with this wood.

The F-50 is the mid sized build (think small jumbo) from George Lowden and Company in Northern Ireland featuring Master Grade tone woods and appointments. Perfectly matching to the Church Pew Mahogany back and sides, the master grade Adirondack Spruce top is the creme de la creme of Spruce. To further customize this mid size jumbo for comfort and just sleek good looks, we added an Ebony contoured arm bevel and bindings and colorful Abalone Pearl 38-style top trim.

Other features include figured Walnut and Abalone rosette, 5-piece Mahogany and Rosewood neck, Ebony fretboard, Rosewood pinless bridge, Ebony backstrip, heel cap and wedge, Bone nut and split saddle, 1 3/4″ nut width and more. The F-50 has great bass and mids with punch, clarity of highs and miles of headroom. A perfect heirloom guitar for strumming, fingerpicking, alternate tunings, or whatever your heart desires.
