A nod to the iconic 1934 Dreadnought, The Pilgrim is Huss & Dalton’s take on the traditional Clarence White/ Tony Rice style large soundhole dreadnought. This custom bluegrass cannon is upgraded with custom rare Brazilian Rosewood back and sides- the holy grail of tonewoods (and the same wood that was on the original) paired with Thermo-Cured (torrefied) Adirondack Red Spruce top and scalloped braces with Hide Glue construction and one-of-a-kind ‘cowboy western burst’ top finish. The large soundhole and extended ivoroid bound Ebony fretboard with no inlays, blank headstock and herringbone top purfling are vintage specs taken from Clarence’s ‘old bone’, or affectionately called ‘the antique’ by Rice.
Other features include Ebony fretboard and bridge, Ivoroid bound body and fretboard, Brazilian Rosewood headstock overlay, Mahogany satin finish neck with volute, zigzag backstrip, Nickel Gotoh H&D open-geared tuners, Bone nut and traditional long saddle, Ivoroid heelcap and wedge, tortoise pickguard, 1 23/32″ nut width, 2 7/32″ saddle spacing, 25.4″ scale length and more.
