The Crossroads 12-Fret is a nod to for the old blues music coming straight out of the Delta in the early 20th century and the guitars that were played in that era. Reminiscent of the pre-war L-00 builds, this custom all Mahogany model features the look and sound of the great old instruments favored by the masters of the genre. With a dressed down theme, features like the custom all Beeswing Mahogany body in natural finish, custom full Ivoroid bindings, Rosewood fretboard and bridge and Kluson Deluxe style tuners harken back to that time period. Huss & Dalton has lightened the bracing and further shortened the scale to produce the woody, thumpy tone that makes the great blues music come to life.
The Crossroads is also a shade deeper in the body than the 0, 00, and 000 series, creating a guitar with perhaps a bit bassier presence. To many players, 12-fret guitars are imbued with near-mystical qualities. When the neck is moved two frets toward the body, the sound hole and bridge must follow its trajectory and the bracing must be rearranged to suit. The 12-fret body construction adds a sweeter, open tone with optimum bridge placement. They have lightened the Adirondack Spruce bracing and further shortened the scale to produce the woody, thumpy tone that makes the great blues music come to life.
