The Huss & Dalton CM-12 Custom is an artistic and elegant guitar that was a showpiece for the 2026 Fretboard Summit recently. Built with premium Quilted Maple back and sides paired with a clean Italian Spruce top with silky medullary rays with matching Flamed Maple neck and full bindings. The CM 12-fret short scale cutaway configuration allows easy access to the upper frets yet maintains the power, so what you really get is a deep-bodied 000. You can trust this guitar to growl or purr, whichever you need at the moment.
Features include Abalone Pearl rosette, Ebony bridge and fretboard light/ dark stripes, Flamed Maple full body, fretboard and headstock bindings, Abalone Pearl scroll 12th fret inlay, Ebony headstock overlay with Pearl logo, Adirondack Spruce scalloped X braces, Flamed Maple heelcap and wedge, Bone nut and saddle, 1 3/4″ nut width, 2 7/32″ saddle spacing and more.
Robust tone and reflection with clarity and presence. The Italian Spruce has a volume and punch similar to Adirondack Spruce but with an extra sweetness and a slight broken in sound. Paired perfectly with the Quilted Maple, the sound is warm and clear, perfect for fingerstyle playing but stands on it’s own for strumming. Similar in size to Huss & Dalton’s 000 but with a 15 1/4” body width and 4 5/8” body depth- a 1/4” and 1/2” larger respectively, this deep body lap guitar is comfortable to play with the shorter scale length and 1 3/4″ nut. It’s a great hybrid build. Think powerful lap guitar or small 12-fret dreadnought.
