Excellent condition 2007 Gibson Custom Shop reissue L7-C. This full archtop build features a carved solid Spruce top and solid Flamed Maple back and sides. Measuring 17″ across at the lower bout, this iconic build was originally made from 1948 – 1972. There were a limited number rebuilt around 2007 in Gibson’s acoustic workshop in Bozeman, Montana making this a hard to come by reissue.
Iconic features of the L7-C include Rosewood adjustable bridge and fretboard which is adorned with Gibson’s Pearl parallelogram inlays and Pearl logo and crown on the headstock. Classic appointments like the vintage Kluson style tuners, floating pickguard and hinged tailpiece with matching parallelograms top off this acoustic archtop.
Carved pre-war style X bracing and produces a big, clear woody tone reminiscent of the models built pre-war to mid century. The Mahogany neck with 1 3/4″ bone nut and 24 3/4″ short scale length make this a smooth and easy to play. Pick up the L7-C and sharpen your swing, jazz and blues and you will know why this box is hard to put down.
