The Collings OM2H T is the new era Rosewood orchestra model (OM) with a true vintage pre-war vibe. The Traditional or “T” Series guitars reflects the late Bill Collings’ legacy. His return to his guitar making roots. It represents an exciting vintage-inspired tonal variation on the distinctive Collings sound, designed and crafted to showcase the most desirable characteristics present in coveted pre-war instruments. Bracing and tone woods are adjusted for weight and thickness to create a voicing characterized by warm, rounded highs and a present low midrange with a slightly looser, more “broken in” feel and tone, while retaining a quick attack and strong projection. Traditional appointments, such as gold Mother of Pearl inlays, custom wood purflings and rosette, ultra-thin nitrocellulose amber lacquer body finish, no tongue brace, pre-war bracing with traditional voicing, and a unique neck construction with Traditional neck carve designed to complement the looser feel and voicing all add a classic touch to match the vintage tone.
The traditional OM2H features a Sitka Spruce sunburst top paired with Indian Rosewood back and sides, Ivoroid bindings and 1 3/4″ nut width. The traditional nitrocellulose thin gloss finish is sanded to an even thinner thickness than their standard models, allowing the natural qualities of the tone woods to shine. Collings’ traditional neck profile adds a more distinct neck taper and rounded fingerboard edges for a played in feel. Other features include Ebony fretboard and bridge, traditional fine herringbone top purfling, Gold Pearl square and diamond fretboard inlays and logo, small Maple bridge plate, no tongue brace, zig zag backstrip, Exotic Ebony headstock overlay, Waverly Nickel tuners and more.
