The Traditional or “T” Series guitars reflect Bill Collings’ return to his guitar making roots and offer a new tonal variation on the distinctive Collings sound. This D1A T features Honduran Mahogany back and sides and an Adirondack Spruce top with Collings’ satin (S) nitrocellulose finish and custom thinner 1 11/16″ nut width. Made popular on the Julian Lage models, the traditional satin finish gives a vintage look and feel and also allows these premium woods to breath.
Collings Traditional Series guitars represent an exciting vintage-inspired tonal variation on the distinctive Collings sound, designed and crafted to showcase the most desirable characteristics present in coveted pre-war instruments. Bracing and tone woods are adjusted for weight and thickness to create a voicing characterized by warm, rounded highs and a present low midrange, while retaining a quick attack and strong projection.
Other features include tortoise body bindings, Ebony fretboard and traditional bridge, no tongue brace, traditional wood purflings and rosette, Gold Mother of Pearl dot inlays and logo, Honduran Mahogany traditional neck, Waverly Nickel Relic tuners, Ebony headstock overlay, Bone nut and traditional long saddle, 1 11/16″ nut width, 25 1/2″ scale length and more.
