The 00 12-fret is a guitar shape that was first designed around the time of the Civil War. Its dimensions are similar to a typical classical guitar, with a slotted headstock and small pyramid bridge. The comfortable size and timeless appearance of the Collings 00 is matched by the ease of playing the neck and shorter string scale affords. This custom 3 style 00 12-fret features a premium set of Panamanian Rosewood back and sides with rich coloring and contrast. Panamanian Rosewood (Dalbergia Tucurensis) has the superb resonance and quick response we are accustomed to hearing in fine Rosewood (think Brazilian Rosewood, fine Cocobolo). Premium Rosewood is becoming scarcer, and Panamanian Rosewood is very scarce already, and a rare offering from Collings.
