Based on Dana’s iconic ‘Soloist’ model, the L-DBO 50th custom features include stunning premium striped Macassar Ebony back and sides with with rare flame figuring paired with a hand voiced Bearclaw Italian Spruce top along with an exclusive 14 Karat Gold inlay package made up of the new ‘Ghost’ Squares & Diamonds fingerboard inlay along with a custom inlay on the heel cap plus Macassar Ebony fretboard, pyramid bridge and headstock overlay, Ebony bindings, Gold Waverly tuners with Ebony buttons and a 5oth Anniversary signed by Dana Bourgeois and numbered 5 of 5.

The L-DBO is an iconic guitar and a favorite of Dana Bourgeois,. Reminiscent of the very popular L sized guitars of the early to mid 20th century, but with some contemporary upgrades. The L-DBO is larger than a 00, slightly smaller than the 000/OM, and designed with a 25” scale neck. The L-DBO’s relatively narrow upper bout imparts a distinctive wedge-shaped appearance, setting it apart from smaller and midsized guitars. As significantly, the L-DBO conceals two secret weapons: An unusually large soundhole for its size, and narrow, 1/4” top bracing which combine to produce unusual power and presence in such a small package. The comfortable smaller body and short scale make this a favorite with fingerstyle and blues players, folkies or really just about anyone. “After a lifetime of playing Dreadnoughts, the L-DBO has become my go-to guitar”, says founder Dana Bourgeois. “Close your eyes and listen to Sierra Hull or Courtney Hartman work an L-DBO on a mic.
