The Jumbo OM Cutaway thin body, or JOMCT, (now called the Grand Auditorium, or GA) is a body style developed by Dana Bourgeois in response to players’ requests for a comfortable mid-sized guitar with the balance and clarity of an OM but with a bigger presence. The idea was simple: Start with the OM outline, enlarge it a bit, play around with the curves but instead of deepening the body, keep it at the standard OM depth, hence the thin body. The result is a wonderfully versatile guitar; larger than an OM, smaller than a Dreadnought, capable of handling almost any playing style you can imagine, and equally capable of operating in solo or ensemble situations.
The versatile Redwood/ Walnut wood combination was chosen for this build for a perfect fingerstyle guitar with guts, as well as a traditional strummer, great for alternate tunings and whatever you feel. The Premium Redwood top is paired gracefully with the stunning set of Figured English Walnut back and sides and fully bound with Cocobolo Rosewood for a classy touch. Dana’s unique ‘snakehead’ headstock shape is overlayed in figured Ziricote with Waverly Nickel tuners with Snakewood buttons to top it off. The JOMCT is a sensational guitar with the comfort you are looking for.
This is a very good condition 2018 JOMCT/ GA model. there is a surface repair on the binding/ top on the edge of the bass side upper bout and a touch up in the same spot on the lower bout. No structural issue at all. Finish is touched up as well. Feels and looks great. There is a very slight finish blemish on the back of the neck as well. (see pictures).
