A sweet 00 from the Martin Custom Shop. This one we had built with nice figured Quilted Bubinga back and sides and an Italian Alpine Spruce sunburst top with Adirondack 1/4″ Golden Era style braces. Wonderful clear, round balanced sound. Very responsive from the lightest touch yet with enough meat to be strummed. The figured European Flamed Maple bindings adds a classy touch contrasting nicely to the orange/ pink hue of the Bubinga and the dark edged 1935 style sunburst. Accented by the Abalone Pearl 45 style Marquis rosette, vintage Alternate Torch fretboard inlays and the C.F. MARTIN block logo on the Ebony slotted headstock overlay, not to mention the Genuine Mahogany neck with no stain, the features are tied together on this guitar to form a contrasting yet seamless and timeless heirloom instrument.
About Bubinga
Bubinga (Guibourtia demeusei ) is an African hardwood often called “African Rosewood” though it is not a true Dalbergia. It is a bit denser and heavier than both Brazilian and Indian rosewood which may contribute to its great sustain and clarity. Provides sustain and note separation with warm even tones, bright midrange, and a sparkle across the entire spectrum.
Includes deluxe hardshell case and lifetime warranty.
