Kevin Kopp honed his skills in the Gibson Restoration Shop and Custom Shop. Working with vintage instruments that have developed their own voices, Kevin honed his building style and own voicing to embody those classic builds with vintage tone. Built in honor of the famous Gibson Nick Lucas guitar Bob Dylan played in the early 60’s, this one-of-a-kind 20th Anniversary Kopp NL 13-fret model features master grade Brazilian Rosewood back and sides paired with a torrefied Adirondack Spruce top. Joining the body at the 13th fret, the Mahogany neck has an Ebony fretboard and headstock overlay with Mother of Pearl traditional Lucas-style inlays. Other features include vintage style Brazilian Rosewood bridge, cream body and fretboard bindings, black/ white multi-stripe top purfling, Waverly Nickel tuners with oval buttons, Bone slotted pins, 1 3/4″ nut width, 2 5/16″ saddle spacing and more. Simply amazing tone and volume from this small body guitar.
This is a great copy of the historic 1933 Gibson Nick Lucas Special owned by Bob Dylan that was his primary guitar between 1963 and 1966, used on iconic albums like Another Side of Bob Dylan and Bringing It All Back Home. By the time Dylan bought it from Fretted Instruments in New York in 1963, it had a natural refinished top with a replacement Guild bridge and a Martin-style pickguard installed.
This 2025 pre-owned one off Kevin Kopp model is in excellent condition. There is an Ivoroid strap button installed in the neck. Plug in and play with the K&K Pure Mini pickup. Perfect for stage, home and studio.
