The Jumbo OM Cutaway, or JOMC, is a body style developed by Dana Bourgeois in response to players’ requests for a comfortable mid-sized guitar with the balance and clarity of an OM but with a bigger presence. The idea was simple: Start with the OM outline, enlarge it a bit, play around with the curves and deepen the body. The result is a wonderfully versatile guitar; larger than an OM, smaller than a Dreadnought, capable of handling almost any playing style you can imagine, and equally capable of operating in solo or ensemble situations.
The versatile Cedar/ Walnut wood combination chosen on this excellent condition 2003 build makes for a perfect fingerstyle guitar with guts, as well as a traditional strummer- great for alternate tunings and whatever you feel. The clean Red Cedar top with customized Abalone rosette is paired gracefully with the set of Figured Walnut back and sides and is fully bound with Flamed Maple for a classy touch. Dana’s unique ‘snakehead’ headstock shape is overlayed in Ebony with Waverly Nickel tuners with Ivoroid buttons to top it off. This very well taken care of JOMC is a sensational versatile guitar with the comfort.
