A vintage inspired Bourgeois OM LSH large soundhole from Dana Bourgeois and company in Lewiston, ME. This custom orchestra model was a showpiece at the 2024 IBMA World of Bluegrass festival and trade show in Raleigh, NC this October. Great features in a versatile and comfortable powerhouse guitar.
Custom built with a striking set of rare colorful Granadillo for the back and sides. Otherwise known as Mexican Rosewood or Amazon Rosewood, Granadillo is similar Rosewood with a broad frequency range and clear articulation. It has a hardness and look very similar to American Rosewoods but is just a tad denser giving more of a chimey overtone. Think warmth, volume and tone of Rosewood with a Walnut clarity and velocity. A great pairing with the Granadillo body is the Aged Tone torrefied Adirondack Spruce top with a little touch of nice bearclaw figure and rich vintage style sunburst. The full Aged Tone package- Bourgeois’ proprietary Aged Tone thin gloss finish and Animal Protein (AP) glue construction, along with the torrefied top and braces, bring this OM LSH to life.
A nod to the vintage style OMs of the 1930’s, this powerful large soundhole OM features Ivoroid bound body and extended fretboard with no inlays, vintage herringbone top purfling, Ivoroid bound soundhole, Waverly Relic tuners with oval buttons and more.
Other features include Ebony fretboard and traditional long saddle bridge, Madagascar Rosewood blank headstock overlay, Mahogany neck with logo on back, zipper backstrip, Ebony pins with Pearl dots, tortoise pickguard, 1 3/4″ nut width, 2 5/16″ saddle spacing, 25.5″ scsle length and more. The OM LSH is a very versatile guitar with drive and presence perfect for any style of playing.
