The Lowden 50th Anniversary collection celebrates George Lowden’s guitar building legacy, longevity and contribution to the guitar making world. This Limited Edition 50th Anniversary  O-35 Custom #47 of 120  is built with a pairing of old woods reclaimed from the depths aged and cured to tonal perfection. Built with Ancient Bog Oak back & sides, this is a rare hardwood dated over 5,300 years old! The Oak was harvested from a peat bog in the UK and has been submerged in complete darkness for thousands of years. The beginning stages of fossilization and the sediment give it this rare black hue, very similar to African Blackwood. The wood has aged over millenia to become and extremely dense yet highly vibrant tone wood that is amazing to behold. Pair with an old growth Redwood top, this wood have cured naturally, sunken in the lakes and rivers of the US west coast. A great parring sonically and visually that is perfect for this limited edition model.

Other features include Koa contoured Arm bevel and bindings, 5-piece Mahogany and Rosewood neck, Abalone rosette, Ebony fretboard with Maple purflings, Rosewood pinless bridge with split bone saddle, multi-wood purflings and more.

The O is Lowden’s largest jumbo sized body measuring 16 1/2″ across with a 5” depth. ‘O’ model stands for George Lowden’s original early jumbo body design. The Lowden standard of passionate commitment to no compromise was well and truly set from the beginning, combining old-world charm with top-notch craftsmanship. The tone is sweet and clear – deep and resonant, not at all heavy or muddy even though the O is a jumbo size guitar. Great for strumming and picking alike.

Includes Ameritage hardshell case and Lifetime Warranty.
