If you are looking for a master crafted guitar built with extremely rare tonewoods with a story, this is for you. This true heirloom quality collector’s OM Grand is built with the legendary “The Tree” Mahogany back and sides with custom natural finish paired with a 3000 year old Ancient Sitka Spruce top with full Brazilian Rosewood bindings, fretboard, bridge and headstock overlay and is topped with Abalone Pearl 41-style top, fretboard and headstock border and rosette and exquisite Mother of Pearl and Abalone Bird and Vine headstock and fretboard inlays and much more.

Santa Cruz’s OM Grand is a bigger, lusher, louder sister to their extremely popular OM model. In comparison, the OM Grand embodies the same elegance, only in increased quantity of volume, projection and bass. The tone woods in this body size makes an extremely versatile guitar. You can hear the history of these woods at the lightest touch. Warm, balanced and clear.

The Tree is a highly prized and sought after wild figured Mahogany from a single famous tree that was over 500 years old when it was cut down in the 1960’s in Belize. Lost to the jungle, this tree was rediscovered over a decade later in the mid 1970’s lying in a ravine. Still considered to this day to be the very best Mahogany available, the mesmerizing geometric patterned figuring found on this premium set is an extremely rare find, plus there just is not much of it left in the world today. The fact this wood only comes from one specific tree makes it some of the rarest wood in the world.

The Ancient Sitka Spruce top was unearthed on an island of Alaska after being buried in a landslide over 3000 years ago. Over the 3 millennia, the color has naturally changed to the ghostly hue it is now. That is not a stain- the smoky green/ grey color is the actual color of the wood. The tree was estimated to be 1000 years old when it fell. Due to the capsulizing of the tree, it did not rot but rather it aged over that time. That it was retrieved, found to be in workable condition, and then quarter sawn to make an amazing guitar, is an extraordinary feat for this piece of wood. There is an amazing tone and clarity of this Ancient Sitka Spruce top, which had been curing and aging already for a 1000 years at the time of Christ. You can feel the history with every strum.

The Brazilian Rosewood used for the bindings, fretboard, bridge, headstock overlay and heelcap is also a very rare and prized wood. This reddish/ brown Rosewood makes the perfect complementary accent to the exceptional tone woods, perfectly tying this unique OM Grand together.

Features include Brazilian Rosewood body, fretboard and headstock bindings, Abalone Pearl top, fretboard and headstock purflings, Adirondack Spruce scalloped bracing with Hot Hide Glue construction, Mahogany neck with custom stain, Waverly Nickel tuners, Pearl SCGC logo at the 14th & 15th frets, Ebony pins with Abalone dots, 1 3/4″ nut width and more.

Includes hardshell case and Lifetime Warranty.
