The back and sides are African Blackwood (Dalbergia melanoxylon), a true Rosewood from central Africa properly named for it’s deep, dark coloring. Not to be mistaken with Australian Blackwood, which ironically is not black at all, nor is it a Rosewood. The top is a perfect pairing of Old Growth Sinker Redwood with striking deep coloring from this extremely old wood with sweet resonance and a quick response. Braced with Adirondack Spruce, an extremely light yet stiff wood drives the custom OM with Hot Hide Glue construction, just like the old guitars. Fully bound in highly figured Koa with Herringbone top trim and rosette and Ebony fretboard, bridge and overlay plus Nickel Waverly tuners with matching Ebony knobs.
