The Martin HD-35 CFM IV 60th is a commemorative limited edition sixty years in the making. This excellent condition pre-owned model was introduced in 2015 to celebrate C. F. Martin IV’s 60th birthday, while also fitting into the 50th-anniversary of the D-35. These two events led to the creation of a unique guitar, the HD-35 CFM IV 60th, honoring the very successful career of CEO Christian Fredrick Martin IV on the occasion of his 60th birthday. Martin produced only 60 instruments, making it a genuinely scarce limited edition. The unique trapezoid interior label is personally signed by Chris Martin and numbered 3 of 60.
Like the guitars of the popular CEO series conceived by CFM IV, this guitar combines classic Martin designs, with progressive features like their modern High Performance neck, and a body made from tonewood that fits with Chris Martin’s personal commitment toward responsible management of the planet’s natural resources. All of it arrayed with his favorite upscale appointments, harkening back to some of the most impressive limited edition guitars from Mr. Martin’s tenure as the current head of one of America’s oldest family businesses.
Built with Indian Siris sides and back wings with Indian rosewood center wedge paired with a European Spruce top with Martin’s Vintage Tone System (VTS) with Adirondack spruce scalloped 1/4″ braces and Mahogany neck with modified low oval profile and Performing Artist taper. Custom Abalone Pearl inlays include herringbone top purfling, Infinity hexagon outline fretboard and bridge inlays, rosette, and logo with C.F. Martin’s birthday inlayed in the headstock.
