Properly named the dreadnought after the largest ship in the British Navy (or anywhere for that matter) at the time, These 12-fret slot head bodies were the largest guitars produced at that time. This D-28 12-Fret Custom built by the Martin Custom Shop features hand picked tonewoods chosen by us at the Martin factory in Nazareth, PA. A clean and tight grained certified High Altitude Swiss Spruce top is paired with premium Wild Grain East Indian Rosewood back and sides with gorgeous multi-figuring and coloring throughout plus Golden Era scalloped bracing with other 28-style pre-war specs.
