Huss & Dalton’s FS is aimed directly at the modern finger-style player. While utilizing the body shape of their CM, it adds shallower body depth for a more immediate response along with lighter top bracing for greater sustain. Its wider tapered fretboard, combined with a flatter, low-profile neck shape, ultimately creates the perfect finger-style guitar.
This 41-style FS was a showpiece at the 2024 NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA earlier this year and features a great combination of tonewoods trimmed our with Paua Pearl. African Mahogany, otherwise known as Khaya (Khaya ivorensis), for the back and sides is paired with the presentation highly figured Bearclaw Italian Spruce top trimmed out with colorful Paua Pearl 41-style purfling and rosette. Flamed Maple bound body and neck wrap the guitar and accentuate the soft venetian cutaway and tops off this one of a kind custom build.

African Khaya Mahogany is a beautiful hardwood species from equatorial West Africa. It is similar in appearance and tone to Honduran Mahogany. Though it is widely referred to as “African Mahogany”, Khaya is not a Mahogany species despite the fact that it very much resembles it. It has the balance of Mahogany with slightly more darker harmonic. Khaya has excellent tone, and produces a deep, warm and full projecting sound with good sustain.
