The Collings OM2HA T is the new era Rosewood orchestra model (OM) with a true vintage pre-war vibe. The Traditional or “T” Series guitars reflects the late Bill Collings’ legacy. His return to his guitar making roots. It represents an exciting vintage-inspired tonal variation on the distinctive Collings sound, designed and crafted to showcase the most desirable characteristics present in coveted pre-war instruments. Bracing and tone woods are adjusted for weight and thickness to create a voicing characterized by warm, rounded highs and a present low midrange, while retaining a quick attack and strong projection. The OM2HA T guitar is built using a very thin all nitrocellulose gloss lacquer finish with full body aging toner, making it exceptionally dynamic and responsive.
This OM2HA T features a Torrefied Adirondack Spruce top paired with Indian Rosewood back and sides plus Ebony fretboard and bridge, Ivoroid bindings, western shaded burst top, Gold Pearl squares and diamond fretboard inlays and logo, no tongue brace, Honduran Mahogany neck, Exotic Ebony headstock overlay and more. The comfortable custom 1 11/16″ thinner nut width feels right at home on the traditional neck carve. The hand picked tone woods and bracing are voiced to facilitate the warm, rounded highs and present low mid-range that characterize the tonality of their traditional series.
