The Collings D2H T Sunburst is the new era Rosewood dreadnought with a true vintage pre-war vibe. The Traditional or “T” Series guitars reflects the late Bill Collings’ legacy, his return to his guitar making roots. The Traditional Series or “T-Series” build represents an exciting vintage inspired tonal variation on the distinctive Collings sound, designed and crafted to showcase the most desirable characteristics present in coveted pre-war instruments. Bracing and tone woods are adjusted for weight and thickness to create a voicing characterized by warm, rounded highs and a present low midrange, while retaining a quick attack and strong projection.
This D2H T Custom is built with Indian Rosewood back and sides paired with an Old Growth Sitka Spruce sunburst top with custom Abalone Pearl rosette, 42-style snowflake fretboard inlays and Torch headstock inlay, drop in Bone saddle and 1 11/16” nut width. Other features include unique wood herringbone top purfling, full body Amber lacquer body toner, no tongue brace, Ebony fretboard and bridge, Nickel Waverly tuners Ebony headstock overlay and more. The T-Series nitrocellulose finish is sanded to an even thinner thickness than their standard instruments, allowing the natural qualities of the wood to shine. The Honduran Mahogany traditional neck profile is based on Collings’ existing Vintage Now dimensions but adds a more distinct neck taper and rounded fingerboard edges for a played in feel.
