Built with the coveted and rare Brazilian Rosewood for the back and sides with nice straight grain paired with an Adirondack Spruce sunburst top, other custom specs of this T series include Abalone Pearl 42-style top purfling and rosette, Abalone Pearl 45-style fretboard inlay and Abalone Pearl torch headstock inlay with full Ivoroid bindings, Gold Waverly tuners and drop in saddle. The perfect pairing of premium tonewoods, and dashing good looks, you will know this dreadnought is a killer form the first strum. Collings Traditional series or “T” guitars are built with that true vintage vibe- representing an exciting vintage inspired tonal variation on the distinctive Collings sound, designed and crafted to showcase the most desirable characteristics present in coveted pre-war instruments. Offering a slightly looser, more “broken in” feel and tone, bracing and tone woods are adjusted for weight and thickness to create a voicing characterized by warm, rounded highs and a present low midrange, while retaining a quick attack and strong projection.
Traditional aesthetic appointments include ultra-thin nitrocellulose lacquer full body finish with vintage toner, abbreviated soundboard graft (tongue brace) and a unique neck construction designed to complement the looser feel and voicing, along with Collings’ Traditional neck carve.
