An excellent condition 1995 premier build from Bill Collings and company from the earlier days of production. This highly sought after build has what is considered the Holy Grail of tonewood combination- Brazilian Rosewood paired with Adirondack Spruce in a comfortable and versatile 12-fret 000 configuration with 3 series specs. Very well taken care of build that is nice and clean. Take care of this guitar and it will take care of you.
The 12-fret 000 has the same general appearance as the Collings 00, but in a larger size with longer string scale. Although it’s the same width and depth as the OM, the longer body typically produces more bass and overall volume. This makes the Collings 000 ideal for string-band purists or any guitarist who wants a maximum of power from an instrument of comfortable size with an elegant, old-time appearance.
This 000 features a great set of Brazilian Rosewood back and sides with tell tale Brazilian figuring for the back and sides paired perfectly with a clean set of Adirondack Spruce for the top with just a touch of patina of aging color coming through. Features include full Ivoroid bindings, Honduran Mahogany modified V neck with slotted headstock and Brazilian Rosewood overlay, herringbone top purfling, Abalone rosette, 30style chevron backstrip, Ebony fretboard and pyramid bridge, 1 13/16″ nut width and more.
