The Limited Edition L-DBO 12-fret Vintage with slotted headstock from Bourgeois Guitars is a formidable guitar pairing the powerful and versatile combination of Madagascar Rosewood and Aged tone Adirondack Spruce in a comfortable body size. Made popular by the likes of Sierra Hull, Courtney Hartman and Dana Bourgeois himself, this limited edition model limited to only 6 guitar world wide has the vintage vibe and feel reminiscent of the very popular L sized guitars of the early to mid 20th century, but with some contemporary upgrades. of an iconic early 20th century build.
The L-DBO 12-fret is larger than a 00, slightly smaller than the 000, and designed with a 25” scale neck. It’s relatively narrow upper bout imparts a distinctive wedge-shaped appearance, setting it apart from smaller and midsized guitars. As significantly, the L-DBO conceals two secret weapons: An unusually large soundhole for its size, and narrow, 1/4” top bracing which combine to produce unusual power and presence in such a small package. The comfortable smaller body and short scale make this a favorite with fingerstyle and blues players, folkies or really just about anyone. “After a lifetime of playing Dreadnoughts, the L-DBO has become my go-to guitar”, says founder Dana Bourgeois. “Close your eyes and listen to an L-DBO on a mic. You’re forgiven for thinking that’s a much larger guitar.”
