Bourgeois L-DBO Beeswing Mahogany SG Red Custom

Original price was: $10,349.00.Current price is: $9,315.00.

The L-DBO is an iconic guitar, reminiscent of the very popular L sized guitars of the early to mid 20th century, but with some contemporary upgrades. The L-DBO is larger than a 00, slightly smaller than the 000/OM, and designed with a 25” scale neck. This one of a kind custom is built with all figured Beeswing Mahogany with custom Crimson Red gloss finish with Madagascar Rosewood fretboard and bridge and Ivoroid bindings. We were discussing the cool reds that Gibson had on their Mahogany SG models in the 70’s and asked Bourgeois if they could do a similar red tint on an all Beeswing Mahogany Jumbo, and here it is. This is the first one of it’s kind. Not over the top fire engine red, just enough where the grain comes through and sets it off with warm crimson tint. a unique kickin’ build.

Features include figured Beeswing Mahogany top, back and sides, Madagascar Rosewood fretboard and bridge, Ivoroid full body, fretboard and headstock bindings, Ivoroid/ black top purfling and ring rosette, Mahogany neck with square headstock, Beeswing Mahogany headstock overlay with matching Crimson Red gloss finish, Mahogany satin finish neck with red stain, Waverly Nickel tuners with Ivoroid buttons, Pearl tiny dots fretboard inlay, Ivoroid script logo, 1 23/32″ nut width, 2.2″ saddle spacing, 25″ short scale length and more.

The L-DBO’s relatively narrow upper bout imparts a distinctive wedge-shaped appearance, setting it apart from smaller and midsized guitars. As significantly, the L-DBO conceals two secret weapons: An unusually large soundhole for its size, and narrow, 1/4” top bracing which combine to produce unusual power and presence in such a small package. The comfortable smaller body and short scale make this a favorite with fingerstyle and blues players, folkies or really just about anyone. “After a lifetime of playing Dreadnoughts, the L-DBO has become my go-to guitar”, says founder Dana Bourgeois. “Close your eyes and listen to Sierra Hull or Courtney Hartman work an L-DBO on a mic. You’re forgiven for thinking that’s a much larger guitar.”

Includes hardshell case and Lifetime Warranty.
