A few years back, Dana Bourgeois built the first “Whyte Rabbit” L-DBO for the The Dixie Chicks. As soon as we saw that we ordered one and also requested a 42 style version. We recently have gotten a small jumbo sized version in. You can see it here at: https://downhomeguitars.com/instruments/bourgeois-sj-whyte-rabbit-presentation-custom/
So the last few years since the release of that first white guitar we have been asking Dana, can we get a black rabbit? Not to rush into anything rash, Dana in his methodical and brilliant thinking wanted to perfect the translucent Black stain on the Maple, which differed from the white. After some R & D, different stains and attention to detail, we bring you the first ever Black Rabbit in the original L-DBO body shape. Highly colored 41 style Abalone Pearl top border and rosette set off this black topped beauty. The dazzling Mother of Pearl Abalone ‘Century Block’ fretboard inlay with colored Abalone inlays in the Pearl blocks, is a sight to behold. Topped with an Ebony headstock overlay with complete the neck. The bridge is also inlaid with Pearl on Pearl blocks and the headstock is topped with colorful Abalone presentation inlays and logo.
The Premium Flamed Maple back, sides and neck feature the stunning Translucent Black gloss finish, a smokey dark look where the flame of the Maple still pops right out. Reflective and changing with different angles, this is an amazing body build. Braced with torrefied Aged Tone Adirondack scalloped bracing, the contrast in wood color in the soundhole is a nice added touch.
We cannot say enough about the craftsman ship of this guitar. The folks at Bourgeois nailed it. If you are looking for a truly one of a kind guitar, this is it.
