The Bourgeois Grand Auditorium, or thin body Jumbo OM (originally called the JOMT) is a body style that was developed by Dana Bourgeois in response to players’ requests for a comfortable mid-sized guitar with the balance and clarity of an OM but with a bigger presence. The idea was simple: Start with the OM outline, enlarge it a bit, play around with the curves but instead of deepening the body, keep it at the standard OM depth for more focused midrange, and you have the Bourgeois GA. The result is a wonderfully versatile guitar; larger than an OM, smaller than a Dreadnought, capable of handling almost any playing style you can imagine, and equally capable of operating in solo or ensemble situations. The comfortable added Venetian cutaway allows ease of access to the higher register conducive to a myriad of playing styles.
This custom model GAC is built with one of our favorite wood combinations. The clean Redwood top with large soundhole (LSH) is paired with a striking set of Cocobolo back and sides with colorful contrasting figuring. Dana Bourgeois signature DB deluxe package includes full highly figured Hawaiian Koa body, neck, headstock and soundhole bindings, signature multi-colored wood herringbone top purfling, Bone square and diamond fretboard inlays, signature wood arrow back strip and Gold Waverly tuners with Snakewood buttons. Bourgeois’ proprietary Aged tone thin gloss finish and Aged Tone torrefied Adirondack Spruce bracing under the hood drives this comfortable build- allowing tone to breathe with a vintage vibe. The large soundhole opens up the tone with added volume and midrange. A really versatile build for many styles of playing.
Other features include Abalone ring rosette, Mahogany neck with volute, Cocobolo headstock overlay, Ebony fretboard and bridge, 1 3/4″ nut width, 2 5/16″ saddle spacing and more.
