A Mahogany take on the Clarence White D-28 played by Tony Rice for decades dubbed “The Antique”, this powerful large soundhole dreadnought features Ivoroid bound body and extended fretboard with no inlays, Animal Protein glue construction, Aged Tone gloss finish, vintage herringbone top purfling, Ivoroid bound large soundhole rosette, Madagascar Rosewood headstock overlay, Waverly Relic Oval tuners, Ebony fretboard and traditional bridge with traditional cut-through saddle, zipper backstrip, Mahogany satin finish neck with volute, Ebony pins with Pearl dots, 1 23/32″ nut, 2.2″ saddle spacing and more. Sinker Mahogany is centuries old river salvaged old growth Mahogany, a rare wood that was encapsulated in the bottom of the river since originally felled long ago. This old wood ages over the centuries, curing and aging, and now dried and made into a guitar, sounds the way only old wood can. The complete Aged Tone package- Bourgeois’ proprietary Aged Tone thin gloss finish, Animal Protein Glue construction plus the Aged Tone Adirondack Spruce top and braces drives this robust dreadnought with a true traditional vintage vibe.
