A true king daddy of dreadnoughts, this pinnacle guitar is one of the classiest and highly appointed builds to come out of Dana Bourgeois’ small shop in Lewiston, ME. The D-45 Ghost Flower is a singular masterpiece, featuring Dana’s very rare Ghost Flower inlays (the first dreadnought built with it ever) in gold, white and multi-colored Abalone Pearl inlaid on the fretboard, headstock and bridge. Built with Master Grade Brazilian Rosewood from Dana’s reserve stash for the back and sides with striking figuring, premium Aged Tone torrefied Adirondack Spruce top and braces, one-piece Mahogany neck, and Animal Protein (AP) glue construction. Colorful Abalone 45-style purflings grace every edge, including along the wedge and neck heel plus the stunning back strip with herringbone border and rosette.
The Ghost Flower motif was made specifically for this guitar by Aulson Inlay. Dana Bourgeois had a fascination with the small white flower found in his native Maine and the idea for The Ghost Flower was born. All the bells and whistles you want all in one package on this truly heirloom instrument.
Other features of this guitar include Gold engraved Waverly tuners, Antique fossilized Walrus Ivory pins, Brazilian Rosewood headstock overlay, full Ivoroid bindings, heelcap and wedge, Ebony fretboard and bridge, black/ white fretboard purlings, 1 23/32″ nut width and much more.
