This one of a kind custom Masterpiece Series 42-style Concert Parlor from Bourgeois Guitars, the first ever concert size made. This was a centerpiece at the 2025 NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA and was definitely built for curb appeal. Designed and constructed by Bourgeois’ master builder James Witkus, this is one of 2 Masterpiece models made. Built with premium Brazilian Rosewood back and sides and a Aged Tone torrefied Adirondack Spruce top with first ever Jade and Pearl ‘Maine Spruce’ fretboard, headstock and custom butterfly pickguard inlays along with 42-style Mother of Pearl top purfling and extra vintage rosette, English pyramid bridge and bindings, Mahogany 12-fret neck with slotted headstock and more. This smaller body is a comfortable build larger the piccolo parlor and smaller than the 00 12-fret. A beautifully responsive guitar perfect for fingerstyle but also takes a flatpick no problem. The Masterpiece concert parlor with it’s classic fancy appointments harkens back to a simpler time to the early turn of the century builds, but with come contemporary specs and design as well. This might be small and sleek, but it is truly a powerhouse of tone in a small package.
Other features include Aged Tone torrefied Adirondack Spruce bracing, Animal Protein glue construction, English Holly boxed wedge and heelcap, Antique Walrus Ivory pins with black dots, Brazilian Rosewood headstock overlay, Waverly Nickel 3 on a plate tuners with Ebony buttons, Ebony fretboard, custom wood backstrip, Maple/ black back and side purflings, Gold Bourgeois logo on back of headstock, Masterpiece label signed by James Witkus, Bone nut and saddle, 1 3/4″ nut width, 2 5/16″ saddle spacing and more. The newest body size to the Bourgeois line and one of our new favorites, the Concert Parlor is a larger version of their smallest build, the piccolo parlor. Starting with the same 7 1/2″ waist, this is enlarged in every direction from there. With a 13.5″ lower bout, a 9.25″ upper bout, a 4″ body depth and body length of 19″, this is really a unique parlor reminiscent of the size 1 and 0 12-fret early builds of the turn of the century. it’s just a hair smaller than Bourgeois’ 0 model but just a tad deeper and longer in the body. A new direction (for Bourgeois) that with have you fingerpicking your favorite melody or blues number with ease. The powerful combination of Brazilian Rosewood and Adirondack Spruce is considered the Holy Grail of tonewood combinations for the punch, breadth of sound and glass like tones.
