The name Banjo Killer was coined by flatpicking great Bryan Sutton for his six-stringed onstage sidekick, back in the day when he burst onto the bluegrass scene in the late 1990s. Featuring a double scalloped “Banjo Killer” X brace design, stiffer back bracing and a 25.5” scale, it’s a powerhouse sloped shoulder dreadnought.
This excellent condition 2023 Slope D Banjo Killer is built with highly figured Mahogany back and sides paired with an Aged Tone torrefied Bearclaw Sitka Spruce top along with custom Aged Tone thin gloss finish, Madagascar Rosewood fretboard, bridge and headstock overlay, full Ivoroid bound body, fretboard and headstock and more.
Other features include Aged Tone torrefied Adirondack Spruce “Banjo Killer” double scalloped bracing, DB signature wood arrow backstrip, Mother of Pearl dot inlays and logo, Mahogany satin neck, Nickel Waverly tuners with Ivoroid buttons, 1 23/32″ nut width, 2.2″ saddle spacing and more.
This is indeed a guitar worthy of it’s name. The deep and warm bass, punch of the mids and clarity of the highs will cut through any jam and then some.
