The King Daddy Bourgeois 000, this pinnacle guitar is the classiest and most highly appointed 000 14-fret short scale ever to come out of Dana Bourgeois’ shop in Lewiston, ME. This 000-45 Custom was the centerpiece of the Bourgeois collection at the 2024 NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA this January and features a few firsts for Bourgeois Guitars. This is the first 000-45 they ever built, plus this is the first guitar they ever built with Abalone Pearl fretboard and headstock purfling, and this is the first 000 ever with a slotted headstock. A bunch of firsts all in one magnificent guitar!
Built with Premium Brazilian Rosewood back and sides with stunning dark/ light contrasting streaks paired with Aged Tone torrefied Adirondack Spruce top and braces, this is the holy grail of tonewood combinations. Colorful Abalone 45-style purflings grace every edge of the body, including fretboard and headstock purfling and along the tail wedge and neck heel plus the stunning backstrip with herringbone border and extra vintage rosette. The Vine fretboard, headstock and bridge inlay in Abalone Pearl and Mother of Pearl gives this beauty a highly decorated vintage vibe. Full Brazilian Rosewood body, fretboard and headstock bindings along with Animal Protein (AP) glue construction round out this build. All the bells and whistles you want all in one package on this truly heirloom instrument.
