This excellent condition 2015 custom model features Premium Brazilian Rosewood back and sides with a Swiss Moon Spruce top, Adirondack bracing and Hide Glue construction. Other custom features include full highly figured Hawaiian Koa bindings, Abalone rosette, double wide black/white top purflings, Nickel Waverly tuners with Ebony buttons and gloss neck. There is a K&K Trinity dual source pickup system installed which includes their Pure Mini bridge plate pickup and gooseneck Trinity microphone, Trinity 2 channel external preamp and stereo jack and stereo cable. Moon Spruce
The Florinett Family of the Swiss Alps provides Santa Cruz with their Master Grade Moon Spruce, and their family has been in this business for over 500 years. Harvested at night, based on the cycles of the Moon, the wood is most often cut at the last full moon of fall when sap content in the trees are the lowest. Left to cure through the winter, the trees are then harvested in the spring. The same process that has been in use for centuries in Europe, and the same that was used for Stradivarius wood as well. This European Spruce variation is a wonderful in-between of Sitka and Adirondack, offering a bright tone with excellent clarity. Check out this beautiful video that shows their full process.
