To commemorate the 40th anniversary of Santa Cruz Guitar Company, Richard Hoover decided to bring a favorite older model back into production for a limited run of twelve guitars in 2016. Due to the wonderful response, the FTC model has returned to the SCGC catalog as a standard model this year. Having had such a wonderful time restoring a 1980s FTC for Eric Clapton in 2015, it was an easy choice to put the carved back, flat top F cutaway model into production once again, offering players a most unique instrument that has the projection of an archtop, with the sustain of a flattop.
This is the first one we have been able to get this year and it is absolutely amazing. A rare guitar built with a premium European Spruce flat top with a 1-piece old growth hand carved Mahogany back and sides with a stunning sunburst and tortoise binding. Topped with Pearl ‘Deco’ fretboard inlays and half moon headstock inlay with Schaller Gold Imperial tuners, this is a classic style collectors piece.
