Combining old-world charm with top-notch craftsmanship, the Lowden O-22C is completely devoid of unnecessary bling. Lowden has chosen to focus instead on high-quality woods and tasteful design. The O-22C has aesthetics more in common with classical guitars, with an uncluttered appearance, complete avoidance of synthetic materials (with the exception of the clear pickguard), simple rosette, and a fretboard entirely free of position markers.
O-22C
Hand made by George Lowden and company in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland. This O body cutaway is built with top quality American Mahogany and Western Red Cedar combined together in this jumbo sized body. O stands for Original, the first body size George Lowden made in the 1970’s. With a bottom bout measuring 16 7/16″, a upper bout at 12 7/8″ and a body depth of 4 7/8″, there is a lot of sound produced in this body size. Strangely enough, this body size is very comfortable and is designed for the finger player in mind. Easy to produce clear tones at the lightest touch, this guitar works great in alternate tunings, down tunings and with a capo. A very versatile guitar with a deep bottom, present mids and crisp highs.
