A vintage inspired Bourgeois D LSH large soundhole, from Dana Bourgeois and company in Lewiston, ME. This excellent condition 2019 Madagascar Rosewood and Aged Tone Adirondack Spruce model had a small back crack expertly repaired by Bourgeois Guitars with no real visible sign of anything. Structurally sound and looks like a new guitar.
This no frills, all business dreadnought was a showpiece at the 2019 IBMA festival in Raleigh, NC. All the features you need in a bluegrass cannon- Premium Madagascar Rosewood back and sides, torrefied Aged Tone Adirondack Spruce top and double scalloped braces, plus the full Aged Tone package- Aged Tone thin finish and Animal Protein (AP) Glue construction along with the torrefied top and braces bring this D LSH to life. A take on the Clarence White D-28 currently played by Tony Rice dubbed “The Antique”, this powerful dreadnought has Ivoroid bound body and extended fretboard with no inlays, vintage herringbone top purfling, Ivoroid bound large soundhole, blank headstock (logo on back) and more.
Other features include Waverly relic tuners with oval buttons, torrefied Aged Tone Adirondack “Banjo Killer” scalloped braces, Madagascar Rosewood overlay and more. The string spacing measures a very comfortable 1 23/32″ at the nut and 2.2″ at the saddle, perfect for driving the train with the vintage inspired dread.
