The CJ is Collings’ version of the classic slope-shouldered dreadnought. Huge on tone and clarity it’s been the choice of many a stage musician. While the CJ is similar in width and depth to the traditional dreadnought, it has a distinctly different tone. With it’s larger jumbo slope shoulder body the CJ results in a somewhat percussive bottom end ideal for acoustic blues or other styles that benefit from a more controlled bass response.
This CJ sports a Sitka Spruce natural top with very tight grain with fine medullary rays across paired with an Indian Rosewood back and sides an Honduran Mahogany neck with custom 24 7/8″ short scale length and 1 3/4″ nut width.
Other features include full Ivoroid body, fretboard an headstock bindings, Ebony fretboard and bridge, C shaped Honduran Mahogany neck, Pearl dot inlays and logo, black/ white purflings, Sitka Spruce pre-war scalloped bracing, 3-style multi-color chevron backstrip, Nickel Waverly tuners, Ebony headstock overlay, 1 3/4″ nut width and more.
