Celebrating 50 years of Santa Cruz Guitars, founder Richard Hoover have introduced a limited edition throw back 1929 00 model. One of their ‘greatest hits’, they have reimagined this build at a historic price for this momentous occasion. This is extremely limited, and will not last at this unheard of price. The 12-fret short scale 1929 00 was SCGC’s no frills, depression era design. A vintage guitar from a by gone era built to last for today.
This limited Edition build features Honduran Mahogany top, back, sides and neck- the same as the original but adds a commemorative label signed by Richard Hoover celebrating 50 Years of Santa Cruz with Gold impression stamp and special 50th Anniversary heel cap.
Welcomed internationally as both timely and timeless, the 1929 00 has received sparkling reviews from the most prestigious publications in France, Germany, UK and the US. This instrument’s design pays homage to the simple and elegant instruments made for players enduring the great Depression of 1929. Vintage inspired appointments include scalloped bracing, a period correct script style logo done tastefully in Ivoroid and beautifully executed Ebony pyramid bridge, bridge pins, tuner buttons, head-plate and fretboard. The rosette is an exercise in austere elegance with a rich tortoise ring nestled in a vintage Ivoroid border.
Other features include Mahogany bindings, Ebony fretboard and pyramid bridge, Ivoroid script logo, Waverly Nickel tuners with Ebony buttons, tortoise pickguard, Ebony pins with Pearl dots, Ebony headstock overlay, 1 3/4″ nut width, 24.75″ short scale length and more.
