Lowden S-23J Jazz Series Nylon String Red Cedar and Walnut with Pickup

George Lowden designed the Jazz Series with nylon string and an internal pickup fitted as standard so that it would feel very comfortable for classical and steel string players alike. The neck has enough width to facilitate the nylon strings but at the same time the cambered fingerboard allows for a wide variety of playing styles. Voiced for a really great acoustic response, and at the same time stiff enough for loud volume to be possible without the whole guitar over-reacting when played loud through a sound system with the LR Baggs Session VTC pickup. The tone is very natural and full with none of the over bright tones sometimes found on too lightly built classicals.

New for 2022, The S-23J pairs the Red Cedar top with Walnut back and sides gives for warmth and clarity from a light touch to strumming and is perfect for stage, studio or home. This is what George Lowden says this about this wood combination- “If you want a guitar with incredible definition, you can’t really look any further than a really good grade of Claro or Bastogne walnut. Walnut is articulate. It’s very clear and defined which means there’s good tone separation and you don’t have so many overtones. That makes walnut very good for recording especially. Walnut works very well with cedar because it gives a very clear, crystalline tone which the cedar warms up”.

Features include Ebony fretboard, Rosewood pinless bridge, Mahogany, Rosewood and Purple Heart 5-piece neck with slotted headstock, LR Baggs Session VTC pickup, venetian cutaway, Gold Gotoh 3 per-side tuners with Ebony buttons, 1 7/8” nut width and more.

Includes deluxe Ameritage Hardshell case and Lifetime Warranty.
