Collings’ “Hill Country” series introduces an acoustic option that has been pushed to the far end of the tonal spectrum, offering a strong fundamental tone with a warm, woody character and full low end, all while retaining a quick response and plenty of power and cut. These guitars have a dry character and full low end that bluegrass players, in particular, will find familiar and right at home in any jam, although their responsiveness and warmth make them highly versatile and appealing for a wide range of styles. This D2A HC is built with Indian Rosewood back and sides paired with an Adirondack spruce top with vintage style sunburst in gloss nitrocellulose finish with traditional saddle and standard Hill Country neck carve. The Hill Country appointments include Hill Country scalloped X-brace with no tongue brace, Ivoroid body bindings, Gold Pearl square and diamond inlays, blank Rosewood peghead veneer, stamped logo on the back of headstock, and unique matching, hand-poured in house appointments, including pickguard, rosette ring, wedge, and heel cap.
