Micheletti Osprey Rigid Rim Sinker Redwood and Indian Rosewood Used (2015)

This very good condition 2015 Micheletti Osprey is handmade by Rick Micheletti in Willitts, CA. The largest steel-string body he makes, the Osprey model has a powerful voice with large bass tones but well balanced with the mids and treble notes.

Features a Sinker Redwood top, Indian Rosewood back and sides with soundport, Walnut full beveled rims, 5-piece Mahogany, Rosewood and Maple neck, Mother of Pearl cobweb inlays, logo and fretboard and headstock edging, Amboyna Burl segmented rosette, and more.

The body size is like an overgrown OM, with a 16 1/4″ lower bout width, 12″ upper bout and 4 1/2″ body depth. The 1 3/4″ nut width gives plenty of string spacing perfect for strumming and fingerpicking. There are some nicks and dings but overall in very good condition.

About the Rigid Rim technology:

Rick has developed and patented a new concept for acoustic guitars. He wondered if a top glued inside of a laminated wooden rim would act like a loud speaker, like a cone vibrating inside a rigid structure. Hence the Rigid Rim was born. Rigid Rim Technology is about focusing the energy from the strings to the top and back of the guitar without losing energy to the side connection. The feature of the rim idea is that there is an inner surface on which to glue an inner set of sides. The laminated rims are very stiff and assist the top and back of the instrument in sound production like the rigid frame in a loud speaker allows the cone to vibrate without energy loss. Another advantage of Rigid Rim Technology is the nice rounded edges that can be achieved. The interface between the musician and the instrument just got a lot friendlier.

Includes original hardshell case.
