Near mint condition Winter 2017 Limited Edition model. Limited to only 30 guitars worldwide, the Lowden Winter 2017 Limited Edition series is a very rare offering. Built with Ancient Bog Oak back, sides and overlays, this hardwood is dated over 5,300 years old! The Oak was harvested from a peat bog in the UK and has been submerged in complete darkness for thousands of years. The beginning stages of fossilization and the sediment give it this rare black hue, very similiar to African Blackwood. The wood has aged over millenia to become and extremely dense yet highly vibrant tone wood that is amazing to behold. Lowden has paired the Oak for this guitar with AAAA grade Lutz Spruce (Picea x Lutzi), a natural hybrid of Sitka Spruce and White Spruce. Blending the positive characteristics of Sitka Spruce and White spruce (and its cousin, Engelmann spruce) together equals the robust tonal output found usually only in Adirondack spruce.
