Handmade in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland, Lowden guitars are old world, timeless instruments. This Lowden F-35 midsize jumbo is built with a favorite tone wood combination. The back and sides are made from AAAA grade Guatemalan Rosewood with a wonderful orange-ish hue with stunning heartwood contrast. It is a robust Rosewood with lots of warmth and clarity. The top is a clean tight grained set of AAAA grade Swiss Alpine Spruce, a great choice that gives the desired punch, headroom and brilliance found in the stiffer Adirondack Spruce, yet is softer and broken in. Extremely versatile for any style of playing, fingerpicking to strumming and flatpicking.
This wonderful tone wood combination is topped with rich Flamed Australian Blackwood bindings and custom contoured Arm bevel. Australian Blackwood is an Acacia, akin to Hawaiian Koa and blends in perfectly with the Guatemalan Rosewood. The comfortable arm bevel is a unique visual feature, but is very functional in design. It thins the body at what is normally the widest part of the body that your arm hangs over, creating a comfortable size build without thinning the whole body. This makes for a small jumbo body feel more in the comfort of an OM or 00/000. Robust and clear tone from the lightest touch. The signature feel of a Lowden. A great mid sized strummer, fingerstyle and flatpicking guitar, perfect for alternate tunings as well.
