The Traditional or “T” Series guitars reflect the late Bill Collings’ return to his guitar making roots offering a new tonal variation on the distinctive Collings sound, designed and crafted to showcase the most desirable characteristics present in coveted pre-war instruments. Bracing and tone woods are adjusted for weight and thickness to create a voicing characterized by warm, rounded highs and a warm, present low end and midrange, while retaining a quick attack and strong projection.
This traditional D2HA dreadnought features an Adirondack Spruce sunburst top paired with Indian Rosewood back and sides, Ivoroid bindings and 1 3/4″ nut. The traditional nitrocellulose thin gloss finish is sanded to an even thinner thickness than their standard models, allowing the natural qualities of the tone woods to shine. Collings’ traditional neck profile adds a more distinct neck taper and rounded fingerboard edges for a played in feel. Traditional vintage appointments like amber lacquer toner, unique wood purflings, rosette, bridge pins, pre-war bracing with traditional voicing and no tongue brace, add classic appointments to match the vintage tone.
Other features include Ebony fretboard and bridge, traditional fine herringbone top purfling, full body aging toner, Gold Pearl square and diamond fretboard inlays and logo, small Maple bridge plate, no tongue brace, Exotic Ebony headstock overlay, Waverly Nickel tuners and more.
