While all guitars and instruments are functional art in our opinion, some just turn out more so than others. This is one of those rare builds. We handpicked this set of Flamed Eastern Black Walnut and knew it was going to be a great set. The kind folks at Huss & Dalton held on to it for us as we were figuring out the best use of this set that had more flame and figuring than any set we have seen in quite a long time. An obvious choice was pairing this with a Redwood top, the time tested wood combination favored by celtic, folk and fingerstyle musicians alike. Along came this amazing set of Sinker Redwood that for whatever reason had almost the same coloring as the Walnut. Aged wood with the grey and greens with in the red wood. It shimmers and changes depending on the angle you look at it. Fully bound in Flamed European Maple with a Walnut overlay and an Abalone Pearl rosette, the whole package is tied together seamlessly. A work of art with amazing tone.
The CM 12-fret is a 000 sized body with a 24.9″ short scale and 1 3/4″ nut but a deeper body depth of 4 5/8″at the lower bout. The Adirondack braces and Hide Glue construction along with the body size and scale length gives extra punch, warmth, clarity and depth perfect for any style along with ease of playing.
