Weber Gallatin CW Cutaway Mandola Prototype

Think Archtop guitar meets mandola. Super cool cutaway model CW (CutaWay) prototype from Weber. This is the first-of-its-kind prototype mandola they made for the NAMM show this year. Big, warm and open sound like an oval hole with great projection and note separation. Awesome and unique.

CW

With a upper bout of 8″, a lower bout of 12 3/8″, a body depth of 2 3/8″ and a 17″ scale length, the CW Mandola feels like a mini version of an archtop guitar, not a mandolin. Tuned CGDA low to high (same as a viola in the violin family and a octave higher than a cello or mandocello), it has that extra depth and nice midgrange tone that fits with all kinds of music.
