Santa Cruz Guitar Company’s 1929 0 12-Fret is an exceptional guitar design that honors the simple and elegant presence of instruments made for players enduring the Great Depression of 1929. To accomplish this noble goal, the all Mahogany Model Nineteen-Twenty-Nine O’s design is simple and refined, a timely marriage of extraordinary lutherie and soul comforting simplicity. Every effort was made to enhance the vintage vibe of the model: scalloped bracing, a vintage style period correct script logo done tastefully in Ivoroid and a beautifully executed Ebony pyramid bridge, bridge pins, tuner buttons, head-plate and fretboard. The rosette is an exercise in austere elegance, a rich tortoise ring nestled in a vintage Ivoroid border. The 1929-O has a loud and wonderfully balanced voice in an accessible and comfortable small body.
This little custom features Santa Cruz’s ‘Georgia Peach’ full body sunburst, a classic yet vibrant and eye catching gloss finish topped off with full Ivoroid bindings and heelcap and bone pins. Think of this as the ‘deluxe’ model 0. The size will fool you as well. This small bodied guitar is the perfect lap, couch or front porch guitar- so eas to play yet the dreadnought depth (yep- 5″ body depth at the tail block!) gives this 1929 0 the sound of a guitar twice the size. Try it for yourself, you’ll be amazed. We were!
