The Pilgrim is Huss & Dalton’s new take on the traditional Clarence White/ Tony Rice style large soundhole dreadnought. This bluegrass cannon built with thermo-cured (torrefied) Adirondack Red Spruce top and braces, Indian Rosewood back and sides and hot hide glue construction. The large soundhole and extended ivoroid bound Ebony fretboard with no inlays, blank headstock and herringbone purfling are vintage specs taken from Clarence’s ‘old bone’, or affectionately called ‘the antique’ by Rice.
The Pilgrim
Huss & Dalton put together their version of this iconic dread, rightfully naming it The Pilgrim, the guitar to base all others by. This guitar just rumbles with bass and low mids on the first strum and pops at a G run. The mids will cut through any jam, even when the guitars are outnumbered by banjos. The highs fall off like a cascade of crisp powerful notes pushing any lead to the forefront. An all around great hand crafted guitar.
